A little about us

Shop members

  • Karina

    Owner, Maker

Creator, designer and Mum. I have been knitting and crocheting for 5 years now - creating toys etc mainly for family. Now I am a Mother, I would love to turn my passion into a means to stay at home with my beautiful daughter.

  • Lyn

    Maker

My Mother. She creates beautiful hats and blankets with over 30 years experience in the craft. She creates some pieces to help me sell and loves crocheting as much as I do! She has taught me both knitting and crochet and helps me create products.

  • Mike

    Dispatcher, Marketer

My wonderful, supportive husband. He helps me market myself and how to keep the books balanced. He has also volunteered to help ship items for me. He is my biggest supporter and was the one who gave me the confidence to start Fluffy Knittens

  • Brenda

    Maker

My Nana. She learnt knitting on butcher skewers as a child and has made many sets and cardigans for both preemies and full term babies - my daughter included. Her experience allows her to make up the pattern for the sets - very unique!

Frequently asked questions

What if I miss my delivery?

If you are not in to receive your parcel, your local carrier will leave a note and give you 2 weeks to collect it or arrange redelivery. It will then come back to us. We will notify you when the parcel returns to us. From there you will have 21 days to contact us on how to proceed, after which a refund of the item will be forfeited and the item will be relisted. Remember custom/made-to-order items are non-refundable (see custom order policy for details).

Care instructions

All our handmade yarn items are machine washable on a gentle 30C cycle. Although we do recommend hand wash where possible in order to keep the wool in good condition.

We also recommend not to tumble dry any of the yarn/wool items as the heat causes the yarn to shrink or stretch - causing misshaping.

Why can some items take up to 2 weeks to be shipped?

The 2 week schedule is for any custom made items that haven't been created yet. For example, any order where you can request a colour will need to have enough time allocated to complete the order for you.

This usually takes 1 week. However, in busy times, this may extend to 2 weeks.

These items are all listed with these dates.

Can I get an order faster?

There are rush options available on some items. If you have a certain date in mind by which you need the item and a rush option is not listed, please contact us and we will see what we can do.

Custom and personalized orders returns

We do not accept returns for customised items. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact us and we will try to rectify it for you.

You're currently out of stock on a size I need/ an Item I would like/ a colour I would like

If we are out of stock on an item you want or a colour or size you would like, please contact us. Whilst we try to replenish stock a and when we can, other projects may slow us down. If you need it soon though, contact us and we will try to meet your deadline.

Sizing details

Our hats and clothins are standard UK sizes for adults and based on average head sizes for babies age stages (0-3 months, 3-6 months etc). However, please do allow for a little natural stretch of the wool when choosing your size.

Our preemie sets have got the sizing listed in the info part of the listing itself. This is due to the various stages of size on a premature baby. Again, please allow for natural stretch of the wool.

All our items of clothing are to standard UK size (e.g. 0-3 months, 3-6 months etc). For European sizing, please use conversion chart.

Are the preemie sets suitable for hospitals?

Absolutely. These sets are largely made by my Nana, who has made these sets for our local hospital for years. They always need more and definitely love them.

Are the items made in a smoke free environment?

Absolutely. None of us smoke or have anyone who smokes handle any of the items listed.

What is the custom order process?

If you see anything you like on our site a d would like it customised (different style, size, colour or specific item we aren't listing yet) please send us a message via etsy. We will then be able to discuss what you have in mind.

Due to the items being customised for your needs, we ask for the amount due before we start on the work. This just covers our time and material cost and ensures that these aren't wasted by a cancellation before the item is even finished and causes us not to be able to sell it on.

The usual returns and cancellation policies apply to custom orders, unless otherwise stated.

If you have any more questions on this, please contact us.

Shipping outside the UK - how long will it take to arrive?

We send our our products via tracked or signed for shipping - whether UK or abroad. Whilst these usually arrive within a week, some items may take longer (approx 2 weeks) to arrive. This all depends on the time of year (Christmas for example).

If you need your items sooner, please contact us and we can ship it express or tracked for more cost. This will depend on the speed you want and the item size. We are happy to advise you on your options.

Refunds and returns (does not include customised or personalised items)

We gladly accept returns on our items as long as they are NOT made to order or personalised/customised (please see our policies), and they are in a re-sellable condition and and have not been worn, washed, used or damaged in any way. You have 14 days from when you receive your parcel to notify us of returns and 30 days to return the item to us.

The refund will be cost of item only, unless the item did not reach its destination or was damaged in transit (we always send tracked and/or signed).

Cost of returns is down to the buyer. Please retain proof of postage of your returned parcel until we have confirmed receipt. We can then start the refund process. Please note, we do not accept any liability for loss or damage of return parcels.

How soft is the wool? Is it itchy?

We use baby grade wool for our items, which means it's soft on delicate skin.

We are always aware of using wool that is comfortable for baby, toddler and adult alike. Most of these items have been inspired by my own daughter, who is still a baby herself, and I would not use any yarn that would irritate or be uncomfortable or unsuitable for her skin. She actually models a lot of our items herself and any discomfort or irritation would lead me to pull this product immediately.

Baby grade wool, as any, does go softer when washed. However, due to various allergies some babies can experience, we do not do this before shipping. Please note, washed items cannot be returned for this reason.
